Weekly Blog - 6-6-21: Adobe Spark

This was my first time putting together a video like this, but I found it pretty easy to do. I would have liked a few more features, like the ability to change transitions or more customization in general. I've used other Adobe products like Photoshop and Lightroom for a long time, so I'm familiar with those programs more than anything.

I decided to make my Spark video about my photography work and where I find artistic inspiration. So I found some old photos from when I was just getting into photography at 16 and then show what work I do now and how my artistic style has evolved. I also talked about my original inspiration for photography and particular lighting techniques, that person being Annie Leibovitz.

Another photographer I really like is Steven Meisel. He has a much more dramatic, pop-art style to his portraits that is really unique.

I also have a lot of artistic inspiration and love for anime and manga, starting to get into those about the same time I got into photography, but I wasn't able to find any images that weren't copyrighted, so I couldn't show them.

This was the first time I  had looked into how to properly use images found online and how to go about respecting proper copyright law. I was able to use google's reverse image search to find photos that were under common copyright usage. Although, I found myself a lot more limited in image selection when I took copyright into consideration.

Overall, using Spark was very easy and took me barely any time to get used to. It's great to have a variety of templates to pull from so you're not going in with a totally blank video. I also appreciated the variety in music choices and the ability to use your own songs.
