Weekly Blog - 7-28-21: Final Blog

Over the course of this Introduction to Digital Art & Media class, I was introduced to many new programs, art styles, artists, and techniques that have expanded my idea of what types of artistic avenues I see myself pursuing in the future.

1. Adobe Spark - I enjoyed using this intuitive and easy program to create videos showcasing projects for this class and can see myself continuing to use it to create presentations and short stories. Adobe continues to impress me with their user-friendly programs that take very little tech-savviness to use.

2. Adobe Capture - This was a really fun tool to use and I particularly liked being able to create LUTs from images and having that same color profile available to apply to other images. The feature to create patterns from an image was also very useful and I loved how endless the possibilities are in creating unique and beautiful pieces.

3. Photography - Being a portrait photographer, I appreciated having this assignment push me out of my comfort zone and try different styles of photography. It was challenging, but I was really happy with the outcome and had a renewed sense of inspiration, wanting to try my hand in more product and architectural photography in particular.

4. Portal to Another Universe - I was so impressed with all of my fellow classmate's work for this project. It was such a creatively challenging assignment, and I loved seeing how everyone interpreted it in their own unique way. I love photo manipulation and after this assignment, I'm very inspired to add more fantasy-like elements in my photography work going forward.

5. Mandala Art - Using Illustrator for this assignment was a little bit challenging for me, as I'm used to Photoshop, but after playing around with the tools and watching tutorials, I felt a lot more confident in my abilities and ended up really enjoying adding detail and color to my finished mandala piece.

6. Animation - Having never created an animation before, this assignment seemed daunting to me at first. But again, having a little bit of experience with Illustrator from the previous assignment and with the abundance of tutorials online, I was able to create a simple flower animation.

7. Imagine Project - This was a great final assignment and I really enjoyed the process of creating this music video. I love getting to work in Premiere Pro and appreciated the assignment a lot because it helped me learn a lot more about how to time a wide range of video clips with certain beats within a song. This was hands down my favorite assignment and I can't wait to keep working with video editing!

Overall, this class has been very inspiring and led me to try a lot of new things I wouldn't have otherwise. I'm excited to continue expanding my horizons creatively and feel highly motivated to start new artistic projects in various mediums.
